July 2025 vibes
Let’s just say if moods were jellybeans, this month was a mixed bag:
- Mysterious
- Tense
- Emotional
- Reflective
A sprinkle of:
- Hopeful
- Funny
- Dark
- Adventurous
Genre-wise? I was clearly in my romance era with 4 out of 6 reads making my heart doing little somersaults. I also dipped into mystery, fantasy, thriller, and contemporary.
Bookish Adventures & Events
This month, I wasn’t just reading—I was out there living my best bookish life:
- Colorado Springs Book Club – Shield of Sparrows brought small-town secrets and found family.
- Garden of the Books Club – The Book Swap by Tessa Bickers was a cozy hug in book form.
- Twists & Page Turners – Paula Hawkins’s Into the Water = brain scrambled. In a good way.
- Colorado Springs Book Swap – My first one! Traded 3 books for 4 “new to me” gems. Can’t wait for the next ones on August 23 @ COATI and September 20 @ Goat Patch Brewing (📍tickets here).
- The Little Book Club – The Return of Ellie Black was the pick…I just, uhh, didn’t read it.
- Harry Potter High Tea – Mischief managed, pastries eaten, cloaks admired. 10/10 whimsical.
- Smutty Book Club – Kiss of the Basilisk was on deck, but I skipped it this time. (Next month, I promise.)
Nerdy Reading Stats
- 100% fiction (nonfiction who??)
- 50% digital, 33% print, 17% audio
- Pace: All medium (Goldilocks style)
- 83% of books were 300–499 pages
- One glorious chunky read over 500+ pages
- Most pages read in one day? July 8th. A whopping 679 pages. I was possessed.

ARCs & Book Club Wins
I read 2 ARCs (thank you, Grey’s Promotions!) and 5 book club picks, which, if you’re doing the math, means I have overcommitted just a tad. But I regret nothing.
Final thoughts
July was a whirlwind of fictional drama. There were spicy scenes (looking at you, Jack Bradford). We had magical high teas. We swapped stories both on and off the page. I’m so grateful for the Colorado Springs bookish community, and if you’re local, come join us next month!
