Calling all fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, reverse grumpy-sunshine fans. The Girlfriend Agreement by Rowan Croft is here to steal your heart and make you cackle while it’s at it. This college romantic comedy has all the tension and charm you want from a slow-burn romance. It also has enough swoon-worthy banter to make you fall in love right alongside the characters.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Lexi Dornan is a genius, except when Damian Navarro is involved. The charming, reckless Conwick U playboy asks her to be his fake girlfriend. He offers a much-needed paycheck in return. Lexi knows it’s a disaster waiting to happen. Damian’s facing an ultimatum: clean up his image or lose everything. Lexi is the only one smart enough. She’s also stubborn enough to pull off the performance of a lifetime. Yet, what happens when the line between fake and real starts to blur?
WHY I CAN’T WAIT
This book had me at “reverse grumpy/sunshine” and sealed the deal with “he falls first.” Rowan Croft writes with a witty voice and emotional depth that makes her characters leap off the page. Plus, this setup? It’s trope heaven: a billionaire heir with a reputation to fix. There is a brilliant but broke heroine. Fake dating turns all too real. Yes, please. While reading the book blurb, I was giggling, sighing, and mentally screaming just kiss already!
